When i start windows a dialog box of a recent deleted program still pops up. From where i can stop this box from poping as windows start? Thanks for your help

I hardly get this type of popup after I deleted (uninstalled) programs. Are you using any third party utility program? The reason I ask is that AFAIK Windows XP itself does not do this. i_XpUser

Unless the "popup " is more specifically a "cannot find" type of dialogue that comes from MSCONFIG startup items. i_XpUser

You say the program was deleted. Did you just delete the folder where it resided, or did you actually do a proper uninstall through Add/Remove programs? Your startup is looking for the executable for that program. Go to this key in the registry and delete the reference to the executable HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

i uninstalled it ( the program came with the uninstall package i.e) but when i reboot d computer it pops up ...cannot find the program in c:/program files Thanks for your help
