Deleted .pps from Shared Drive

Comment:
I recently deleted a .pps(PowerPoint Show) from a shared drive on another PC, but then realised it was the one i wanted to keep. I checked my PC Recycling Bin but it was not there. Does Xp store this file somewhere? Would it perhaps be in the Shared PC's Desktop Recycling Bin?
Well, it wouldn't take long to look, but no, deletes on network & removable drives skip the bin as a rule - you'd be looking at file recovery software, which would be useful only if the file was not overwritten on the source machine
Might check for backups - some office software creates temporary or working copies
Despite claims to the contrary, posts arenot routinely removed from Computing.Net
