Delete XP login account for school server

Hewlett-packard Pavilion dv4000 notebook

Specs: Windows XP SP3
A while back my hard drive was partitioned to log into the school servers. I have deleted the partition but the option to log into this account still exists. I cannot access the user through the administrator account to delete it. Anyone understand this and know how to fix it?

charger4130, is it maybe in your startup menu? View/edit it in your control panel.

This appears to a not uncommon issue.. Not one I have had fortunately (yet)... However a trawl out there produces this - scroll down aways... and read the last two/three entries...

And a long shot... I'm also wondering if there is Registry entry that is causing this problem; possibly if you look here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ ProfileList

And if there - then delete the profile entry there.

BUT FIRST - backup the registry - just in-case you make a slight mistake somewhere critical...

Not having done this... I'm theorising obviously...

The registry idea is from:

details a similar approach; you have to scroll quite a way to read it... Note that there is "nothing" to download to do this... I emphasise this as adjacent to the instructions is download prompt (for something else...) - which.
