Normally I would not want to delete a file associated with Dragon Naturally Speaking. However, I was trying to get a bought DNS v10 to work on my computer and never succeeded. I reinstalled v 9.5 and it works fine.
In the meantime, thinking I might get one that would work from a Torrent download I downlowded a v9.5 professional version to my usb add-on drive and installed it. It didn't work, but I was left with it's folder on my add-on usb hard drive. I want to delete it, since it has nothing to do with the 9.5 version I use on my system hard drive. The lhsp file will not delete. I could just leave it there. I don't think it hurts anything, but I would like to get rid of it.
How can I delete file that will not go away through any of the usual methods?

Thanks again,

Ron

so is the problem that you CANNOT delete the file? If so, you can download hiJackThis go to miscellaneous tools, select FileDeleter which will delete in-use files at windows restart.

*excuse my bad grammar, spelling, and english

There is also 'Moveonboot' and 'Unlocker', that will delete 'undeleteable' files.

I really appreciate the advice given. I tried all three of these file removers/deleters(hijack, moveonboot and unlocker). I downloaded each separately and ran them separately. Each one looked great and had clear instructions. Each one really looked promising.
Every time I restarted my computer that damned file was still there, defying me to dump it, once and for all.
So none of these deleters worked for me. I had one a few months ago with the word "kill" in its name. It worked at that time, but it also caused a lot of other problems with other files, so I have not used it since. Good riddance. I would like to find a file remover that really works and doesn't care what kind of file it is removing, leaving it up to the user to decide if it is a good idea or not.
Sincerely, thanks a lot for your concern and help.
Any other ideas? I will try them.

I finally found a program that did delete my unwanted lhsp file! It is shareware--15 day trial. About $18 to buy.Called Uninstallplus.version3.9.
Easy download. Very professional looking and smooth download. I just right clicked on the folder that I couldn't delete because it contained the stubborn lhsp file; then chose uninstallplus from the drop down list; found the right button to click on the program face that came up and POOF the folder(and enclosed files)disappeared! Two others I tried had the same technique but nothing disappeared.
Needless to say I bought this excellent program.
