delete an empty file

Specs: Windows XP
I have a file in my documents that is without avirus or anything nothing I have will openit and ican not move or delete it . right click and properties tells me its a notebook file with no size it is not hidden or anything .whatever I try nothing will delete it . can you help?

You do not mention whatever message you get whenever you try to delete it... but I suspect it is a temporary file being generated by a particular open application. As soon as you close that application, that file will automatically disappear on its own, or least allow you to delete at that point.

Right now, though, the non-information you provide is preventing any meaningful-and-effective advice. How badly do you want help with this perceived problem?

try unlocker, dr delete or move on boot.
they will delete that file

I recieved the file as an E mail from a friend and moved the particular Email to read later in my own time to my documents . Iam abut of a ludite with computers comming late in life to them. When I went to open the file. I got a window saing canot open as therewas no program that I had toopen it. so I tried to delete it and now all i get when I try. ts a window saying. Error Deleteing File or Folder containg Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the saurce file or disk. I am sorryI do not know more but if right click and in properties all I can do is change it to another type of file with the same result hope this helps Ross

Some zero byte files can be hard to get rid of.

try copying some txt to it
