These answers are hard to get either from ISP's or manufacturers.I've read up but maybe someone has input or similar experience? Here are my DUN settings in XP:
Under :Network Connections /Modem:
a]Hardware Flow Control: Enabled
b]Modem Error Control: Enabled
c]Modem Error Compression:Disabled

Under Network connections /Networking/PPP:
Software Compression :Enabled
LCP extensions:Disabled
Multi-Link: Disabled
---
Under: Network connections /Networking/TCPIP/Advanced/
Use Default Gateway: Enabled
IP Header Compression : Disabled

the settings are correct.
the modem may be bad. try a diff modem.these cheapo modems to day are very line noise sensitive, and can develop problems from slight power drops/surges.

WinModems are software based I believe so it's gonna be hard to replace it =)
