I have seen posts on "Delayed Write Failed", but, none have been on what I've been experiencing. I haven't moved large files, nor have I inserted USB drives of any kind. I also haven't changed the 80 or 40 pin cabling to the hd either. Within the last 2 or 3 weeks I have been getting this error. All I have been doing is searching the internet. When I get the error, it shows that the cache that firefox uses hasn't saved the file correctly and the data has been lost. I've also seen where Windows Journal entries have done the same thing. This morning after being on the internet for an hour, I couldn't defragment the hd, until after a complete re-boot of the system. Is my hd failing? Or is there something else to check.

I've also ran a diagnostic check from the hd's manufacturer. If you want to know the drive manufacturer it is Western Digital.

This may be a 48 bit LBA issue. Is your harddrive larger than 127GB? Is that HDrive the original drive that came from Dell and Is the OS the original Dell OS?

If you hear any click(s) around the time of the errors, that would tend to indicate that the drive is starting to fail.
