Delay at Bootup

Hi there, After I boot my computer, I get about a minute delay at the welcome screen (after logging in). After the delay all works well. Now, I heard that this problem is related to having win XP auto detect my network card settings, and that the delay resolves itself if i assign an address like 192.168.0.1 to my NIC. But, the problem with this is that my computer is an ICS host and I have two network cards, so if I set my external card (the one connected to the ADSL modem) to a fixed IP, ICS will not work. Any ideas on how to get around this problem? Thank you very much, in advance

I have the same problem. I think it has to do with the graphic card. I recently switched graphic cards, and the first onedid not have a delay but my new card does. Perhaps someone can shed some light on this.

This problem has nothing to do with your graphics card.
I have the same problem, and the problem is the dynamic ip's that the nics have when using ICS. I have tried so many things to get around this - but i can't! Does anyone have a clue? Please don't write it's you "floppy drive" :o)
