well, I just got my VX1000 today, filmed some s---, then tried to hook my camera up to the computer via firewire. The computer did not recognize it. Ive tried a bunch of stuff like refreshing the drivers, reinstalling the drivers, reinstaling the firewire card, and getting an update for it, but nothing helped. I use my family computer for editing so my parents arent really too keen on letting me change the OS to Windows 2000. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this problem? I was told that the vx1000 is recognized fine on windows 2000 so how can i downgrade to that?

Have you tried right clicking on the main exe file of the program and setting the compatability to Win2000? I ended up having to do such on a prog that runs fine on XP but one of the sub exes wouldn't work so I had to set that one to run as 98SE. So far no problems have cropped up.
