I downloaded ITunes and it became my default media player.
I would prefer to have Windows Media Player as my default.

i don't know much but this worked for me, if you right click on a mp3 etc. and change and select windows media player then click ok then ok again.

It didn't seem to work.
What happens is that I'm trying to download an audio lecture. It starts the lecture in quicktime (which I don't like) and I can't even find the document once it is (apparently) saved.

open windows media player. Make sure you maximize the window. click on tools on top of window. click options. click file types tab.click select all or choose each file type you want WMP to open. click apply then click ok. If all else fails reinstall WMP and opt for it to be default player.
