If it is a brand new router you will need to set it up for the internet connection at your location. To do this open internet explorer (or any browser) and type into the address bar "192.168.2.1" (without the " ") That is the most common IP address for default gateways.

(if that is not your gateway ip address you can go in the start menu, click run, then type in "cmd", this will open up a prompt window, in this screen type in "ipconfig" this will then tell you what your default gateway's ip address is.)

After you type your default gateway's IP address into your browser it should open your gateways setup menu. The setup menu is diffrent for every brand router but you should be able to work with it.

When you get into the setup menu there should be a way to select the connection type.

You should see some or all of the following options...

Dynamic

Static

PPPoE

PPTP (Europe only)

Telstra BigPond (Australia only)

You may need to contact you ISP (internet service provider) to get this information if you do not already have it.

However, if you just switched to a new router from an old router like i did, you can connect to the old router, access the setup menu on the old router, and find all the connection information through that. That worked for me.

Well i hope this helped, whether or not it did, post back and let me know how it goes.
