Is there anyway I can decompress a volume from Windows XP (Pro) Recovery Console? This way there are no file handles opened on the volume which I want to decompress.

I hope I don't sound too stupid here. What are you talking about?

I am rather stumped on the whole decompress issue. Are you talking about using expand from a command line to expand deflated files?

I am sorry for not being clear. I have a NTFS volume with Compression turned on for the entire volume. It is a volume that is actively accessed by windows. If I try to turn off the compression when windows is running, several files will not be uncompressed. I was wondering if there is any way to set the compression flag off an NTFS volume outside of windows (particularly the recovery console). I hope I am being clearer than my previous attempt.
