Never before seen problem: I try to launch a browser like Internet Explorer, and the window pops up, loads for maybe a second, then disappears. A box saying "file download" then appears, and then I get an error message, something about an inability to load. This has since advanced to giving me an error that reads something like: "cannot find file 'C:My Documents\user name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet files\458HFHUG\[home page].html'" ANY IDEAS??

Try emptying the browser's cache.
>Control Panel>Internet Options>Delete Files

Or you can manually remove the files from the location:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\

Thanks! What does it mean if the Content.IE5 folder appears to be GONE? I've selected Show all files/folders, but in the Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files directory, the only thing there are files, no folders...
