About every 20-30 mins. I get this error message: "Windows must now restarte because the DCOM Server Process Launcher Service terminated unexpectedly." I can't get any type of productivity done on my computer. Any ideas?

That error is usually a classic symptom of a malware infection. Even though you might have an anti-virus program installed, no single program can detect or stop every kind of infection, and the fact that you can only have one real-time av scanner installed at any one time does not help.

The link below is to a page put up by the Gateway computer company, but the procedures described apply to any make of PC getting that error:

First do this...

Start -> Run -> type services.msc
Select "DCOM Server Process Launcher"
Right Click -> Properties
Change Startup type to Disabled
Click on Recovery Tab
Change all failures to Take No Action

Then like said above do a virus scan. I suggest...

P.S. I have not seen the Blaster Worm in almost a year. I thought we eradicated that virus. People need to stop opening attachments from emails they don't know.

mishelhoney, lots of 'nastys' are quite devoted to self preservation and block anything which might be a threat. FIRST disable restore so it doesn't get put back (create restore point & restart after cleaning). SECOND scan in safe mode. That'll bypass any safeguards it might have thrown up.
