Suddenly my toolbar is showing not only the time also showing the day ? Can someone tell me how to set it back to shoing the time only and the day and date only when I roll the mouse over that area ? I have not idea how to change it back,I've looked into the settings and cannot find how to do this ,I know its just a trivial thing ,however the not knowing how to set it to the way I had it is bugging me . I do have TweakUI ifor WindowsXP Any idea , my toolbar seems to have adifferant appreance with a two shades lower part darker blue the top and the area where the icons are located on the right is ever a lighter shade then the rest ? My soi used my PC last night and I told him not to mess with any settings (he is twelve) He may have changed this in advertantly ,there are other changes on the desktop however I cvan live with those ,however I would like to change the toolbar back to the way it was ?
Thanks To All
Nick

Try Start >Control Panel >'Language' >click "Change the format
of numbers, dates, and Times"

You may have to look around there. I have XP Home Ed, and cannot find how to insert the Day of the Week into the Time Display on the Taskbar. You may have XP Pro, you do not say.

Nick, Just right click your Taskbar and unlock it. Now put your cursor over the top of the Taskbar till it turns into a 2 sided arrow the hold your left mouse button down and drag it slightly downwords till the day disappears, release the left mouse button, right click the Taskbar and choose Lock the Taskbar.

I guess your brilliant son was doing you a big favor by adding day to the taskbar. Do you honestly always remember what day it is supposed to be today?

I found that by changing the appearance tab to WindowsXP Style instead of the Media Center Style it was actually the fix all to everything that had been changed on my PC ,the taskbar was back to the white and blue color it was B/4, the day was gone from taskbar ,my fonts in the borders had returned to the previous setting which I preferred ! Thank you to all the replies ,a always appreciated very much ! Oh ,I wanted to mention after all of my settings where back to the way I like I saved the theme as Nick's favorite theme plus made sure the toolbar was locked !
Take Care ,Nick

I see you got this resolved but regarding the control panel; That should always be the first thing you do if there is a preference modification on your computer. Ever since W95 there has been easy access to this folder from your start menu. anything relating to the computer, in itself (not software) can be adjusted from here.

Peace

And create an Limited User account for your son so he doesn't screw up yours. :)
