Day 45 is now here, and I have decided to go back and use IE 6.0 sp2 as my default browser.I have found a lot of little niggling things in Firefox 1.0 that have started to annoy me, some of these remind me of Netscrape 4.0.
The only thing that I do like is the tabbed browsing, so I have installed Crazy Browser so I have tabs in IE 6.0 sp2.
When Firefox get's a little more advanced, version 2.0 perhaps I will go back and have another trial.

I have found that too many sites just don´t function as they should, with FF. Constantly switching to IE and back anyway. :/
I´m getting kind of used to it though...

Hey Wombat, if you like tabbed browsing, try Avant Browser. It has more usefull bells and whistles then Crazy browser and has all the pop-up blockers and filters of Firefox. The nice part is that is is really a GUI for IE so none of the compliance problems when visiting sites that are built for viewing with IE.

Kurt, I use AdSubtract Pro so that solves the popups and whatever. I'll have a look at Avant though.

I've had a few little bug issues with FireFox, but overall I find it wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than IE. Are you all aware of the many add-ons available for FireFox?

my biggest beaf w/ FF v 1.0 (aside from the noted memory leak that requires you to minimize or close the browser every once in awhile) is the lack of ability to type favorites directly into the address bar and go to the site.
For example in IE (after v 5.0) you had the ability to save the URL to this forum per say as "forum" lets say... and then in the address bar you could type "forum" hit enter and walah you were here! Now one step further and you could put all your favorite forums in a directory called "forum" and then name this site "computing" and then you could type in "forum/computing" (this I liked better as it kept my favorites organized)... now while FF has added a "keyword" functionality to the Bookmark that allows you to do the same thing for any bookmark in the root directory, it will not allow you to use dirs in the same way as IE... what's more annoying is that the "keyword" function was an additional feature (one step beter than IE) which is fine, but upon import of my favorites from IE to FF, instead of adding the Bookmark name as the "keyword" (like it works in IE) it left the field blank leaving me to go back and edit 100's of bookmarks.... :(
Firefox could be a better browser, but I know it is just starting out... there are other reasons why I feel that FF will just not be the way to go for the corporate world, but that's just my personal oppinion.

I have just installed Avant Bowser, and it has a cleaner gui than Crazy Browser...

@Wombat
Try Maxthon...formally Myie2...
I have used this for the last 2yrs.
http://www.maxthon.com/en/index.htm
Maxthon Internet Browser software is a powerful tabbed browser with a highly customizable interface. It is based on the Internet Explorer browser engine (your most likely current web browser) which means that what works in the IE browser will work the same in Maxthon tabbed browser but with many additional efficient features.
Give it a go...you will be supprised

I'll give that one a try also Alan, I like Avant's look and feel at the moment...
