Comment:

My computer keeps jumping the date and time, typically to the year 2050, or 2052. I don't think my CMOS battery is bad because it keeps my password in the BIOS, and I have not had a CMOS batter warning?

Anyone have any thoughts, seems like some setting cause it only changes when the labtop is not plugged in, and on turn off. If i turn it off when it is unplugged it changes.

Thank you, Chris

Does it jump to those dates and times in the bios, or just in Windows ? If just Windows, I would scan for viruses and spyware.

Jumps around in both. The BIOS clock is governing the Windows clock, i have scanned for viruses and it seems to be clean.

"The BIOS clock is governing the Windows clock" Not necessarily. I'd start by replacing the battery. They're relatively cheap.

Lets say, hypothetically that i did replace that battery, what would you suggest then?
