This machine has a 120 Gig Maxtor drive that has died. Can anyone recommend (from experience) a good Data Recovery Agency?

Most hard drive manufacturers have a data recovery service, and the one that made the drive or supports the drive is most likely to have the necessary logic board or identical model available to swap if that's the only way of recovering the data. E.g. In this case, check out the Seagate site, which supports Maxtor drives.
