I called tech support at Dell today because my XP wasnt loading correctly. The first tech support guy I spoke with I told that I needed my data backed up, I couldnt afford to lose it since it was a business computer. He said not a problem and had me do a dirty installation. Afterwards, ALL my files were gone. I called tech support back and they couldnt believe that the guy had me do a dirty installation because now that I reinstalled a new version of windows it would make data recovery virtually impossible. Is there anyway to recover my lost data??? Please I need any help anyone can offer.

What exactly did this idiot tell you to do the "dirty installation"? Maybe we can suggest a backward fix...

When I called he told me to run the installation cd and when the commands come up, all I remember is him telling me to click on partitions. And when I called the second time, that tech support guy was like "oh no". Does this help at all? Is it possible to reverse it? Please help. I had so many important files.
