i have installed windows xp prof edition on top of a previous one.
i had a lot of data in the 'my documents' folder. in stead of deleting these files properly, windows simply lost them. i can not find the files, but on my harddrive, some 25Gb!!!!!!! of data is untracable. when i add up all the filesizes on my HD, i have about 10Gb of data on it, but windows tells me i have 35Gb on it.
how can i relocate these files, or - if theres no other option - how can i free that disk-space again
thanks

Win XP backs up your old operating system which takes up a lot of room.
I went the upgrade route first and found that I only had 5 GB of a 15GB drive left so I did a clean install and every thing is OK now .
