OS: Win XP Pro SP1
CPU/Ram: Athlon XP 2500+
Comment:

I am trying to install the Win XP Pro SP1 OS to my system I just built and after the HD is formatted and files are copied to it I get a "cyclic redundancy error" as Win XP setup is going on and. It tells me that the disk I am using may be dirty or that I need to try another disk. It is a brand new disk!

Any help is appreciated.

Nick, Many of the links at the link below point to the disk may be dirty or scratched. Wish I had a better answer.

you could try and copy the entire i386 directory on the cd to the Hard Drive to check that your CD-ROM is working correctly then install from there.
