Did you attempt to change the file extension while viewing the files off the CD? CD is read only media. As such you can't change the file extension. copy the files to a folder on the desktop and THEN try changing the file extension. You may first need to change the file attributes from read only by right clicking on the file and selecting properties. There may be a checked box for read only. Remove the check mark.

Hi yes i tried changing the file extension after moving it to my desktop but still no joy. Think i might throw the pc out of the window soon! lol
Thank you

Hi
I did check out the link but that didn't really tell me anything i'm afraid. I don't really understand what i am meant to do on there.
Sorry for being so stupid but many thanks for your help.

You could try and download the software listed in that first informational box...

"Hi yes i tried changing the file extension after moving it to my desktop".
The properties of a file copied from a CD will be READ ONLY. You MUST change that by un-ticking the read only box. Then you will be able to change the file extension.
You are making this harder than necessary.
