Use Firefox and quit using Internet Explorer (for a lot of reasons).

You can avoid many of these Windows problems with Linux. Linspire eases the transition for new users

As well as using the SP2 pop-up blocker, I also use free pop-up stopper They work great together. But also if you set your SP2 pop-up stopper to high, you have to use a ctrl>enter prompt to see pop-ups that you need to see
HTH....good luck
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

The Google toolbar is an excellent pop-up blocker. Also go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services, scroll down to Messenger, and adjust the properties to Disabled. Reboot. That should help a lot.

Hi, Is there any possibility that you have some nasties on your system that is making you a "magnet" for so many popups? Maybe install spywareblaster to "help" prevent unwanteds. Just a thought. BTW your subject title would be a good name for a popup blocker. lol Bluejay
