Hi, On boot I got this message from XP :
c:\windows\system32\config\system
this file is missing, xp can't boot, insert your setup cd to repair.
Then I don't know what to do, I don't have automatic repair, so I gaot to use the console, but then again I don't know what to do.
Could anyone help me fixing my problem ? And does somebody know why the f.. Xp 's doing such crap?

without the cd that windows xp came with there is little that can be done. Unless you have a bootleg copy you should have what is called a restore disk which allows you to reinstall xp

I am not 100% positive but i think that the system file is your registery in XP as far as the repair goes i think that once the install starts (boot from CD) you should be prompted if you want to repair, HOWEVER, I would double check that against the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://support.microsoft.com/search
