custom level greyed out IE SP2

The custom level is greyed out - likely a spyware or virus but I cannot find any reference to this problem anywhere. I am a computer consultant and believe me I have looked.
Would appreciate help ASAP as IE won't function properly and I do not want to reinstall everything.

Hi, What programs have you used to look for spyware and viruses? Ive been trying to emulate this and cant do it.. Also Im assuming you have "internet" selected when you have this problem....is that rite?, And how is IE not functioning properly?? Oz

The main reason a button would be turned off is because everything is already set to that option no matter what that option may be)
Using that line of thought I have located you two Knowledge Base articles dealing with this problem.
