Please Help! I have a laptop with an external usb 120 gb hard drive. Upon plugging into a usb port my computer lags and sometimes freezes. Have tried different usb ports, but same result. The mouse starts to lag or jump weirdly and is very hard to move around, sometimes stopping completely. Files will not open unless repeatedly pounded and then very slow. Please feel free to email me at tjdirect07@yahoo.com. My OS is Win XP with an NTFS file system on both laptop and external drive. Thanks for any help.

No one will email you, and don't post your email address in a public forum like this unless you love Spam. Sounds like your usb ports can't supply enough power to run an external drive and run the laptop efficiently. Try buying a powered usb hub to use with the hard drive.
