ctrying to reach c drive

i used a windows recovery console disk as OS would not boot. Now Im told I need to get to c: root drive to bootcfg /rebuild. However, Im stuck on c:\WINDOWS> and cd.. is not being accepted to get me to c:> drive where im told i need to go.

I think I deleted important stuff with anitivirus delete.

In the Recovery Console use CD .. Note the space between CD and ..

If you got as far as C:\Windows then you were in the recovery console. At that time you need to type a recognized command.

For a list of recognized commands type help and hit enter when you are at the C:Windows prompt.

fixmbr is one, fixboot is another. You don't need to go to any CD at that point.

normally you would use cd\ to get to the root.
cd.. and cd [space].. both take you back one level.
