ctrl key problem on windowsXP sp2

OS: Windows xp sp 2
CPU/Ram: AMD 24000 1 giga

Ok i am having problems with my keyboard, every time i press the ctrl key (left one) a 4 gets typed, i haven't been able to fix it in any way, thanks a lot for the help!

maybe it's the keyboard, you should test another one to see if it still does it.
