Comment:

I have to many exe. files running in the background and it's slowing my computer down (loading media players, trouble opening program files). Also, windows xp doesn't want to shut down after clicking "shut down" tab. I have to click it 2 and 3 times before the system will shut down. Can you help?

Go to Start/Run:Msconfig

Click the start up tab at the top right coner and disable everything you do not want to run when the computer starts up.

WARNING: You must restart after you close it out or else the changes do not take effect.
