CSRSS.EXE process is runnin at 99%

Hi All I have a new labtop with Windows XP Pro. The last couple of days the machine has been running slow. i've looked in the Task Manager and see that the CSRSS.exe process is running nearly at 100%, i looked all over the web for a solution, can't find one, can anyone help..cheers

Turn the service off. as ling as you are not running a network or connecting to a network you can safely turn it off. ctrl + alt + delete

Here ya go, seen this before.
Have you run Spybot? If not, you need to do that now, check for updates and run it. And please just confirm that you have gone to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services and disabled the Messenger Service.

Guys..i've just this minute rebuilt the machine and after installing the virus software (trend miro OfficeScan)it happened again so it looks like it's to do with the virus software but the other XP pc's are working fine with the virus software, maybe it's to do with the model of the laptop (compaq Evo N1005V)
