I downloaded the Ceative Webcam NX Pro program and WinXP will not reconize it.I uninstalled all the software and drivers for the program then reinstalled it all again and still same thing. The Device Manager says "unknown device" and device ID-USB\VID_0000&PID_0000/5&39670E7&0&2. the devnode flags are--DN_DISABLEABLE,DN_NT.ENUMERATOR,DN_NT.DRIVER.
Why is XP not loading the driver for the cam &what/how can I fix it?

Do you have the device plugged in to your computer when you try to install it.
Where did you download the driver files to?
You have to direct the found new hardware wizard to where you downloaded the driver files to.

lurkswithin,
I intalled the software first then I went to Creative.com to check for device updates.
I found an updated driver for the Webcam NX Pro for WinXP Home.Download the update to my desk top, closed all programs and restarted Windows.
Then I installed the new driver to the Creative folder and the system installed it, then it sayed to plug in the Cam.I did. WinXP reconize the new hardware but it said it did't know what the hardware was. I checked my hardware configure progam to see what it said there, unknown device and no drivers where installed or needed for this device/hadrware.But it said that the device was working fine.I dug around for awhile, uninstalled the driver then reinstalled it a couple times, then uninstalled the program, rebooted and tried again. Samething. So I go to the help and suport window ,dug around tried a couple things it said to do but no luck. Then i found something about BIOS Configuration for USB type of devices/hardware in the startup mode of windows. I go in there and enabled the BIOS adaptors, closed and saved my changes. Windows started and I loaded the software, then the updated driver, then it asked to plug in the cam. Windows said new hardware but UNKNOWN. Samething again.Unistalled/reinstalled/rebooted once or twice. My buddy came over did basically samething I did and all of asudden it reconived it. HAPPY<HAPPY>HAPPY. Checked out the cam.Nice cam-clear and captures light pretty decent. So then I need to go to town, shut down the computer and off I go.Come back, all excited you know, lets check out new webcam. Start system, and same damn thing all over again.I try & try to fix it,no luck. So buddy comes over later and tries. No luck. So we dig around do this,do that soforth and so on. Now.....2 B Continued......

I don't know what we/I did but it ain't running worth a crap now and the webcam still won't run. ?????????? enough to piss someone off because I am. Damn piece of junk!!!!!!!!! Pisses me off so much I could chew nails!!!!!
