I installed XP and everything was detected and installed and so was my sound card but it does not play any sound. I turned up the volume and even tried to install the driver myself but it said it failed to install driver. Can some PLEASE HELP ME!! :)

my sound card is:
Creative AudioPCI(ES1317,ES1373)(WDM)

i even went to the website that i purchased my computer from and downloaded the newest drivers but it did not give me an option to install them just remove them. Any Help Would be GREAT!

Thanks in advance,
-Frank

I had the same problem with creative soundcards. After a full night of messing around with it I got mine to work. What you have to do is install the drivers manually. Under system properties, Go to add hardware. Since your card is already installed, go down and select "add a new hardware device". Install manually, select sound card devices, find creative, and just install your drivers. I recommend you have the driver downloaded from creative and use that file.

Does Your Sound Card Compatible with Win2k?

I also had trouble with my AWE64, and ended up having to go into the BIOS and switching it to AUTO before the card would work.

Where do you get the drivers for Creative AudioPCI(ES1317,ES1373)(WDM) so that I can install them? Please help.
