Hi there!... HELP NEEDED I have windows XP.. ordered the Creative Labs Model 4730 and can't get it warking. Is this card for DOS only or for other Windows than XP??? Any help will be aprreciated. Anthony Please mail me: anthonygrilo@hotmail.com

Assumming you have the card installed, look in Device manger to see if the card is working properly or if it has a yellow or red punctuation mark by it. WinXP should be able to configure that card without help. If you installed in the first slot next to the graphics slot I suggest you move it down as low as you can go. Be sure you unplug your computer before installing any hardware. Take static precautions. The driver Bakers linked to appears to be the correct one.
If Device Manager indicates the card is working properly you may simply have the settings muted. Have you been using onboard sound? If so, that sound is probably set as the default device.

Searching on the web finds:
CT4730 - Vibra 128??
EV1938 main chip
"The EV1938 chip, designed by Creative Labs Malvern, is a single chip PCI audio controller based on the popular Sound Blaster AudioPCI 64 sound card.
....incorporates built-in AC-97 Codec
128-voice multi-timbral wavetable synthesizer.."
It was first used on laptops.Creative has many different chipsets on their sound cards. XP only has drivers for some of the 128 bit ones.
I spent a lot of time looking for drivers for a CT4750 (a Vibra 128 card, different main chip) a while back, and at the time they were only available on the Europe (UK) site, despite the fact the downloads were on the North America (US) site.
XP initially detected the card and installed drivers for a PCI 128 but they were the wrong ones - no sound at all.I looked on the Soundblaster North America (US), Europe (UK), and Oceana (Aus) sites and found no drivers for CT4730.
I did find out in the Read More notes the Vibra 128 drivers they do have can't be used for CT4730 because it's a 2-channel audio card (most if not all the other 128bit ones have more channels). But I did find several hits on the web for drivers they say work for CT4730:
http://www.drdriver.com/v5/drivers/...
The rest of these require you register - it's perfectly safe to do so - they won't abuse the info you supply:
This first guy says the SB AudioPCI 64V drivers work fine with it:

This may work fine too:

If you want to use the wavetable sound features of the card
You can get the wavesets here:
http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppo...
SoundBlaster - Others - Vibra 128
Choose Windows 2000 (NOT XP)
(DO NOT USE THE DRIVERS!)Get these:
eapci2m.ecw (2 Megabyte Waveset for SB PCI 16/64/128 )
eapci4m.ecw(4 Megabyte Waveset for SB PCI 16/64/128 )
eapci8m.ecw (8 Megabyte Waveset for SB PCI 16/64/128)You install those waveset files in your C:\Windows\System directory.
To ensure they are loaded on system startup, follow these steps:
Select Start - Control Panel - System - Device Manager
Double click Sound, Video and Game Controllers
Double click your soundcard (WDM) entry and select - Properties - Settings - Load WavesetClick on Browse and select C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
For each of the eapcixm.ecw files, where x is a number, select it, Click on ApplyFor the CT4750, there was already one older 2mb General Midi waveset there.
When you point to eapci2m.ecw, a newer one will be loaded.Restart your system.
