Hi, I got some help here to find some freeware portable apps and now I'm after either help using one of them, or a suitable replacement.

I am trying to extract icons then save tham as their ico files or .dll's

THe thing is, I need the icons to be exactly as the original, plus my changes,

I have tried using SnIco Edit and Liquid Icon XP (Both Freeware from portablefreeware.com) The only problem is Liquid Icon destroys the quality, and makes all transparent parts black, and SnIco i can't figure out how to work, and their domain lease seems to have ended. So no website.

If anyone could help me use them to get max resolution icons with transparency or find me a suitable "portable" alternative i'd be extremely grateful. Thanks

For editing them Microangelo is quite good.

Please .. Bob .... Don't suggest google, it's insulting. How does one think I found -this- site?

Microangelo is a great tool but it's not a portable app which is my requirement.

Running it from a USB drive seems impractical for performance reasons. Need somehting simpler that does transparency.
