Creating a static ip

Your internet IP address is Dynamic.. If you want this to be Static, you need to call your ISP and subscribe to a static IP. This will cost extra.
If you want to "assign" an IP to your computer.. do this.
Control Panel Network Connections Select your Connection Choose properties Double click TCP/IP Choose your IP and enter the default Gateway. This will be your routers IP address.
As for your DNS settings page.. Look in your routers Control Panel and you'll find the two DNS settings listed in there.
Dont forget to log back into your Routers CP and assign that IP to your router as static for the Wired/wireless connections.

Also, if you have a dynamic ip and you want to use your computer as a web server, you can use "no-ip" and a program that updates your service when your dynamic ip changes.
