I am a supervisor for a computer lab and I want to know how do I create a windows xp shutdown shortcut on the desktop. I do not have administrator right and I am thinking that is the problem but I don't think you have to be logged in as one for Windos XP Professional. If anyone knows, please email me. Thank You

Wow this is madness!!
here we go again. To execute bytes you need to have athourisation to those bytes if not then the 'party' is of. Dig it!
To link an executable should be posible but it seems not in your case, but even if it would work (fixing the link) then how are you going to execute it? with out authorisationable rights to the proper binairy.
This is realy sad, sad that a systems manager
does not know this and has to come here to computing.net to be degraded like this.
Even more sad is that i do not have a
paid-job, like that sytems-manager, at all in this sector simply because of the fact that i am a hardcore anarchist rejecting industrial standards.Ofer me some hardware so i can keep on working by myself to support all those who want to learn.

Sue has read my words but did not understand them at all!!!
so .. keep going on like this Sue. And ask some one to tweak you instead.

Why do people bother with these shortcuts...u still gotta move the mouse onto the shortcut and then click, now if your really lazy like me you would go into control panel and in 'Power Options' >Advanced look for where it says 'when i press the power button on my computer' and select 'shutdown' then when your ready to quit you just hit the switch...though yuo will need to have admin rights to do this.
