I was doing some routine maintenance on my PC and during the defrag of the C drive the system rebooted. So far I have tried diabling services, start up items and uninstalled Norton AV. None of this has helped. This happens whether I use Speed Disk or the Windows Defrag program (GUI and command line). I have run Disk Doctor and Chckdsk too and they do not come up with anything.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly what happens when you reboot or restart your computer? Are there any error messages?

No error messages at all, but I figured it out just a bit ago. I had to disable the pagefile and afterwards it worked like a charm.

Do you have enough free space?
If not, try to delete some old programs and files.
Cause defrag starts acting up whenever your drive's really full
