Hi I recently downloaded an mp3 decoder and a dvd decoder for windows media player from cyberlink and it worked but i couldn't zoom to get rid of pana. so i downloaded the new power dvd 4.0 and now my dvd player hesitates like it does not have enough memory or video mem to push it but i know it does because it has always worked before and never skipped( i could be surfing web and watching movie at same time on it)The CPU usage is winding out at very high %ages and i have a feeling that is the culprit
What is a normal cpu usage for running a dvd without any apps in background?
Mine is hitting in the high nineties to 100
System Specs:
1100 mhz
512mb ram
32 mb nvidia tnt2 m64 with 21.83 drivers
16x toshiba dvd player
Please help

Cameron,
I kinda had the same problem playing DVD's with Power dvd 4.0 on my system with XP. Never had the slightest problem when I used Me and Power dvd 3.0.
Go to the configurations in your power dvd, select video and set it to enable hardware acceleration, also check if the ide channel that your dvd rom is on got dma enabled.
Mine still not perfect but acceptable now.

Mine plays but it sucks to have to have that hesitation. You know i checked out the cpu usage and it was almost hitting 100 that is probably what is causing the hesitation and the choppiness wonder why power dvd takes so much cpu usage and can you change that?

First of all I have a dvd program which I dont like and I am wondering if there are any free downloads out there on the web that you could tell me about
Secondly and more importantly when i am playing games and then switch from window to window it freezes the other game and it stops responding. I have a p4 2ghz 512 mb ram 80 gb hard drive dvd player cdrw and much more
Hope u can help
Ricky
