I have nothing run and my CPU still take too long. I have an P4 1.7Ghz w/ 256 Rdram and run under WinXP. PLease help, this's thing is really f*ck up my system processing time.

It shouldn't be like that. Something is probably loading at startup and is really slowing you down.
goto: start, run. type msconfig in the box, then goto statup programs... slowly uncheck the things you know about and see what happens.
BTW - if you happen to be using "Seti@home" or any other program like it, make sure it's not running all the time. Set it to run only when the screen saver is active.

I'm having the same problem in WinXP. My system, using 315k of ram, but any possible percentage of cpu usage available it takes, and has slowed my system to a crawl and 6 outta 10 problems will simply not run. I've gone through the msconfig route and done a bare boot and still have the same problem. Anyone know what's up with this??
