Specs: Windows XP Home Edition
I'm not a pro at computers, so bare with me. Im running Windows XP Home Edition, and I've noticed that when im playing Call of Duty 2, my cpu usage will randomly jump up to 100% for approximately 3minutes, then it will lower back to a small value. This causes massive fps lag in-game and happens very often. I have ran the following programs incase it is a malware or virus causing the issue:

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Spybot Search and Destroy
Avira AntiVir Antivirus

No malware, worms, or trojans were found, only adaware (which was removed). However the problem still persists.

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 6000+
3.00GHz, 1.87 GB of RAM
Physical Address Extension

Plug and Play Monitor on NVIDIA GeForce 7050 PV / NVIDIA nForce 630a

Can someone please post with some help ASAP, as it's a very annoying issue.

Crimson28, SWAG, I'm guessing you have things running in the background. There're certain things that MUST run , but there can be quite a few that don't have to be running. Find a list of 'Musts' @:

try using process explorer to limit some of your running background processes, typically a fresh installation will only have approx. 23 processes running
