I want to upgrade my cpu, but am not sure what speed my mother board is capable of, the model is gigabyte GA-7VTXH. I read 2000, but it said that it also reserves suport for future AMD cpu. Not sure wot this means, could anyone shed some light?
Cheers! Martin

Don't bother with the manual, will probably be out of date anyway.
According to AMD, the maximum processor that the Gigabyte GA-7VTXH is the XP2100+ (and not the Thoroughbred-B core either, the plain old thoroughbred 266 core).
If you have the + model of this board, then maximum for the GA-7VTXH+ is the XP2200+ (including the thoroughbred-B cores).
Why they have determined these are the max, I don't know (for the non + model, I can understand; the processor core changed at this point. I have the same restrictions on my ASUS MoBo), but I have found AMD to be very reliable this way, after all, they are their own CPUs, so they should know.
