I have a Athlon XP 2000+ Processor installed on an Asus A7S333 motherboard. Everything has been working fine for a few months untill I hit a problem.

Every Time I start the PC up, the system Hangs on Windows Startup, so I switch the PC off and switch it back on again, then it boots straight into the BIOS reporting that the CPU Speed has been set incorrectly. I change the speed to the correct settings and it starts OK. If I switch off and start up again the same thing happens.

sounds to me like your CMOS battery might need replacing. Is the time/date wrong when you go into the BIOS?
