Hello,

Our computer has been making sounds like is running in overdrive. Upon checking the CPU usage, we are seeing it gets up to 15%, 45%, even 100% at times.

I have ran virus checking and that got rid of what was found. I unchecked some programs from starting automatically.

How can I find out what is causing our PC to have the CPU to be working so hard?

Thanks.

Look into your Task Manager for clues. If you want something a little more in-depth try Process Monitor.

Open up the PC and check for dirt in the cooling fan and fins.
