OS: XP
CPU/Ram: Celeron & 256MB
Product: Dell 1100
Comment:

Dear Computing.net, the above system runs very slowly & takes 5 minutes to boot up. Looking in Task manager shows 100% cpu usage with no programs running, svchost.exe is taking 41% with google desk top 60%. I am also running PC-Cillin v14. Do I have some undetected spy/worm/viral activity? Can any body help before the whole thing goes out of the window?
Thanks.

You are more than likely infected.

If you want to empower yourself & have a go, here is all the info needed to get your comp clean, no need to buy anything, stick to the free programs, just a matter of finding sites that suit your skill level & using a search engine like Google to research each problem file found.
Once clean, you need to research on preventitive measures to stop yourself getting infected again.
