First of all, turn off your caps lock you are shouting.

Is your computer a Compaq?

Do you need to recover personal files?

I would do the following.....lose the caps.....it's considered yelling.

Start the computer in safe mode and see if you have a restore point.

Borrow a hp winxp cd and do a repair install.

cAN i DOWNLOAD THIS DISC AND BURN IT FROM ANOTHER COMPUTER...........CN frowns on answering that.

OR BUY THIS DISC , yes you can.

AND WHAT IS IT ACTUALLY CALLED? if you have win xppro then you need a xppro installation cd
If home you need a xphome installation disk.

It is possible you have a hidden partition with the factory restore on it....as well.
