Earlier this week my computer started to act weird; everytime I reeboted it all my XP-settings were back to square one. I found that my profile (the only one installed on the computer) had been corrupted, so I created a new one and deleted the old. Now to the problem - before I did this I could save documents in the folder "my documents" which was empty at the time, because of the profile corruption. I didn't take much notice to it then, but now when I'm looking for the files I saved during the time my profile was corrupt I can't seem to find them. Everything that was saved prior to the failor is there, the computer is just acting like it has had a blackout and doesn't remember anything from the time when it was acting weird.
Do you know of any way to retreive my lost files?

Did you use SEARCH to look for your files??
While in search window, click TOOLS, then FOLDER
OPTIONS, then VIEW TAB, then "show hidden files and folders".Another thing:
Maybe your computer is still saving files to the old profile. The next time you want to save something, click "Save as...", then choose the new location.
But before you do that, Right click on the words "My Documents" in the Start Menu, and then select RENAME, and then rename it.

I have searched for the files, I have even searched for words in the files, I am showing hidden files.
My computer is not saving files to the old profile, it's saving them to the current one.
I may be lost but I'm not dumb - I've tried everything I could think of - as a last resort I'm comming here for help.
