two hds.C i have windows on. D&E is a partitioned drive. transferred a lot of data from C to E. Formatted C, reinstalled windows. after two restarts, i get a message about something with my hd before startup and it starts that scan thing it does, and repairing some files/indexes. I see it's taking longa nd go sleep. Next day I transfer all that data from E back to C and some to D, without checking it. Then I realise that all teh data coming from E is in some way corrupt. All the files are there but they just dont work. Jpegs dont preview. Mp3s dont play. Exe dont execute. Nothing....50gig dead!

WTF? Any suggestions before I blow my head off?
