OS: WINDOWS XP
CPU/Ram: n/a
Product: Toshiba/Portege 2000
Comment:

I have a Toshiba Laptop. It does not have a CD ROM or FLOOPY drive. And i am unable to start it up. Well it goes to the windows xp loading bar screen then to a black screen then to a blue screen. This is what it tell me on the blue screen:

STOP: c0000221 {bad image checksum}
The image MPR.dll is possibly corrupt. The Header checksum does not match the computed checksum

So How can i fix this? and i am also unable to load into safe mode or any other modes as it goes back to the blue screen.

If my only option left is to format. how can format when i do not have a cdrom or floppy drive.

I think you might have the wrong impression of what 'format' means. It means erasing all the data on the hard drive.
I think you mean 'install' or 'reinstall' windows.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!!!

Without a floppy or cd drive you are out of luck unless the machine has a hidden partition with the operating system install on it. Check the manual.

Without any cd drive of floppy, you might be able to get into the safemode with command prompt. If you are lucky, at the c:// prompt you can try running How to Start the Windows XP System Restore Tool if You Can't Boot
Type: %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe. Then press enter.
