Hi,

I can´t send mail vial Outlook Express using port 25. I can receive mail, but no way sending them. Is there a chance this might work usind a different port?

Apreciate your advice

You may have to check firewall and antivirus software settings.
E.g. McAfee VirusScan blocks port 25 for outgoing Mails by default.

Port 25 is the default port for SMTP which is used to send mail. For receiving mail you use POP3 and the default port for that is 11O

However, these port numbers are not set in stone and depending on you mail server they could vary. Check with the admin of the mail server you are using that they are in fact using port 25 but I suspect the the problem might be with configuration. What error message to you get when you try to send mail?

socket-error 10060 is a time-out error

Nr.0x800CCC0E could be your server is blocked.

Good job it's Sunday an I'm bored. All this information can be found with a Google search and I don't even use Outlook Express.

The best thing to do is to contact your ISP.

From the Advanced tab--under Server Port Numbers--try 465 for the Outgoing mail (SMTP) port & 995 for the Incoming mail (POP3) port.

You also need to make sure that the Incoming POP & Outgoing SMTP server address you are using are the correct ones.
