I currently have 2 80 GB hard drives and 1 gig of RAM. I am curious to know what the correct page file setting would be for a system such as that, if more system specs are needed I can post if necessary.

I have looked this up and seen many different arguments, from turning it off entirely, to setting it low and letting it turn itself up when needed, to running a very memory intensive program and somehow use task manager to get a correct amount, or even setting minimum and maximum to the same.

Maybe someone can shed some light on this subject, because I do not know which method is correct, and I would like the best performance I could get. Also, which partition should I put it on, C or D or both or whatever. (Dumb confusing page file)

Which means set it to system managed file, and leave it on C where my system files are I presume?

just leave it to the system, windows xp has proven to be very good at handling the virtual memory with its default settings.

you'll only gain (marginally) on performance if the 2 drives are on separate channels.

I go with 1.5 times the RAM.

Life's more painless for the brainless.
